Events and Activities

GENERAL MEETINGS

Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of the month (except August and December when we have a Social meeting for members) at 10:30 am (doors open from 10:00 am) at Beckenham Methodist Church, Bromley Road, Beckenham, BR3 5JE.

A talk by a visiting speaker is given, followed by an opportunity for members to socialise (coffee/tea and biscuit). Member's entrance fee: £3 per meeting (Visitors entrance fee: £5). General Meeting talks are shown in our annual Programme and quarterly Newsletters. Visitors are welcome. Our next talks are expected to be:

SOCIALS: We hold two Socials a year: a Summer Social in August and a Christmas Social in December (both are open to members only).

HISTORY MEETINGS: Our meetings take place on the first Thursday of the month (except January and August) at 10:30 am at Beckenham Methodist Church, Bromley Road, Beckenham (doors open at 10:00 am). Speakers are invited to talk on general historical subjects. Visits are arranged usually in June and July to places of historical interest. Annual subscription for 2024 is £20. Visitors: £5.00 per meeting.

LOCAL HISTORY MEETINGS: Meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 10:30 am (doors open at 10:00 am) at Beckenham Methodist Church, Bromley Road, Beckenham. Speakers are invited to talk on all aspects of Beckenham and surrounding areas. Visits are  arranged usually twice in the year to places of historical interest. Annual subscription for 2024 is £25 Visitors: entrance fee £5.00 per meeting.

OPEN ACTIVITIES

EXCURSIONS

Visits are arranged to places of interest, museums, art galleries, etc within easy reach of Beckenham, using public transport or by private coach. Details of planned visits to book are in our quarterly Newsletter.

ART GALLERY VISITS

THEATRE

Group visits are arranged to West End and local theatres.

WALKING FOR HEALTH

Twice-weekly walks through Beckenham Place Park. Please contact the Group Leader. There are also London Walks groups.
